Ministry of Higher Education of Oman receives for second time the EFQM Committed to Excellence Certificate! First in Oman!

February 4, 2019: After the successful pilot phase in Spring 2017 the Ministry started its second wave of the Journey to Excellence in September 2017 with EFQM Self-Assessments in three Directorates General, in the Minister’s Office, and in the Undersecretary’s Office. Again, Lean Project Management trainings were conducted, followed by ten Excellence projects. These Excellence projects  lead to substantial, annual costs savings, and resulted in strongly improved processes. This sucessful Striving for Excellence was recognized by the European Foundation for Quality Management for the second time with the EFQM Committed to Excellence Certificate. The Ministry of Higher Education in Oman is the very first organization in Oman that has received this international recognition.

The start of this successful Journey to Excellence was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Karl J. Koller, international Excellence expert and EFQM advisor/trainer from the Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM), Zurich, Switzerland.

  • The EFQM Leaders for Excellence (L4E) Training and the EFQM Internal Assessor Training (IAT) are the most valuable trainings I have ever attended. I have learned a lot from these trainings. The discussions around the case studies, particularly by using the EFQM Excellence Model in the Education Sector, were very beneficial. I strongly recommend the EFQM L4E and the EFQM IAT, conducted by Dr. Karl J. Koller from the Swiss Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM).

Mr. Khalid A-Wahaib, Quality Manager, Ministry of Education, Muscat, OM
  • The EFQM L4E Training was an insightful and beneficial two-day-course which gave me an overview of the EFQM Model and the Fundamental Concepts of Excellence. I recommend this course to individuals who are new to the EFQM Model and also to individuals who already have some background in Excellence but want to refresh and expand their Excellence know-how. It is beneficial for all management staff, regardless of their field of work, as Excellence is a key component for high performance.

Mr. Mohammad Abdulrazaq Alawadhi, Global Quality Manager, Drydocks World, Dubai, UAE
  • The EFQM Leaders for Excellence Training gave me a new view about Quality. I learned about a holistic Excellence Framework that helps organizations to develop towards Excellence. I wish more of our leaders would know about the EFQM Excellence Model. Developing our organizations towards Excellence would be very beneficial for our customers, our organizations, and our country.
