Ministry of Higher Education of Oman continuous it's Journey to Excellence!

September 2017: After the successful pilot phase in Spring 2017 the Ministry started its second wave of the Journey to Excellence in September 2017 with EFQM Self-Assessments in three Directorates General, in the Minister’s Office, and in the Undersecretary’s Office. Again, Lean Project Management trainings were conducted, followed by ten Excellence projects. These projects will be finished and ready for deployment by January 2018. There are clear indications so far that these Excellence projects will lead to substantial, annual costs savings, and will result in better work quality.

The start of this successful Journey to Excellence was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Karl J. Koller, international Excellence expert and EFQM advisor/trainer from the Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM), Zurich, Switzerland.

  • "All participants from our College of Dentistry at King Saud University in Riyadh as well as from other colleges and ministries have enjoyed the EFQM Foundation Training by ITQM. As a Certified EFQM Assessor (Model 2013), this training will help me a lot to know about the model changes and and how to implement the new Excellence Model in my organization. The best part of the training were the real life examples from different industries as well as education and health care sectors, presented by Dr. Karl. This training was for me definitely a very good opportunity to update my EFQM Excellence know-how."

  • The Document Management System Training by ITQM was very informative, practical, and well organized. The training will help me to further develop the DMS in our hospital. I also liked very much the various team exercises. The trainers were very successful in creating a very stimulating learning environment.
